Feeling a sharp pang of envy can put you in touch with your inner desires. Now, all of this might sound pretty obvious. Be memorable. That's a lot more productive than focusing on what everyone else is doing. We live in a society that glamorizes perfection. So the solution is to become conscious — bring these thoughts to the forefront of your consciousness by being on the lookout for them. Why would we want any habit in our life that promotes feelings of inferiority? So we end up protecting these views about ourselves very carefully. Comparison puts focus on the wrong person. And we seem to be doing it more and more — as if this plague of constant self-comparison really only became a phenomenon in the last five years. Facebook recently reminded me of just how powerful a determinant it is to my confidence level.
I belong to middle class family. Because when we compare ourselves to other people, we almost always have some preexisting idea about how we stack up. If you have a friend whose life always seems perfect, make a point to connect with them in person.
